East Student Assists Hunger Program

ECJSHS sophomore Will McDuffie assisted Whiteville First Presbyterian Church in packaging 10,147 meals Saturday morning as part of the International Rise Against Hunger effort. McDuffie joined seven of his fellow Scouts from BSA Troop 512, which is sponsored by the church, as they worked with 34 other volunteers. The Scouts helped with the set-up and take-down of the equipment. They also packed and moved more than 40 boxes of meals.

Varsity Soccer Men Defeat WHS

The ECJSHS soccer team won 2-1 against Whiteville, Monday evening. They were tied, 1-1, at the half. Reggie Shufford scored the opening goal, assisted by Noah Dibble. Adrion Jenrette scored the winning goal, also assisted by Dibble, with only four minutes to go. Goalie Erick Garcia had seven saves.

Student Council

East Columbus Student Council President Tristan Bellamy is flanked by council officers Gemilia Calderon and Ariana Oppenheimer. The council has wasted no time in becoming active for the new school year. The East Columbus Student Council is a dedicated group of students committed to making positive changes within their school community.

Convocation 2023

East Columbus Junior-Senior High School’s staff at the 2023 Columbus County Schools Convocation was a vibrant and dedicated group. Constituting the largest group, their energy was palpable, setting the tone for the entire event.

Varsity Volleyball

The Gator Varsity Volleyball team is a force to be reckoned with on the court. Comprising a talented group of dedicated athletes, they consistently demonstrate exceptional teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship.

Starting a New Year

The staff of East Columbus gathers for its first faculty meeting of the year. Returning and new staff members were introduced. New policies for the school were also introduced.
